GLOBAL BEATLES DAY
Global Beatles Day
we celebrate the Fab Four – Geroge Harrison, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and Ringo Starr. Beatlemania, as it was called, took the music world by storm. Their reign together lasted for a decade, as they produced one Number 1 hit after another. Every concert was over-filled with wild and screaming starry-eyed fans. The overwhelming success and popularity of the Beatles will be all but impossible to match or beat. So, get out your old Beatles LP records and listen to their historic Rock ‘N Roll music.
In 1960, The Beatles began their road to fame in Liverpool, a suburb of London, England. The Beatles last public performance as a group was not intended to be the last. Rather, it was a “Get Back Together” project. They played together from the rooftop of the headquarters of Apple Corporation (Apple Records.) It was their first live performance since a farewell tour in 1966. The concert was a success and the group appeared smiling, laughing and happy. However, instead of reuniting them, the rooftop concert on June 30, 1969 was their last public performance as a group. After the group’s final performance together, each Beatle went on to write and sing their own new music. Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney both created their own bands, too. Several decades later, the music of the Beatles remains popular.
